Wood Library will reopen in Phase 4

Wood Library is an association library chartered by the NYS Department of Education.  As such, we are currently slated for reopening in Phase 4.

Library staff and the Board of Trustees are working hard to ensure that we have needed supplies, policies, and guidelines in place to reopen safely. Target dates are dependent on the curve and case numbers in phases 1-3. Our reopening is projected to be mid to late June. Services may be limited with social distancing in place.

Library Funding Proposition on School District Ballot

Registered voters in the Canandaigua City School District will soon receive a ballot that includes a proposition for library funding.

Proposition #4 asks voters to authorize the School District to levy and collect an annual tax for Wood Library in the amount of $720,268.  This represents an increase of $20,000 in the levy that was approved by voters in 2019.

A community presentation about the library vote will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, May 27, at 6:30PM (see details below).

Our Annual Fund Drive is off to a great start!

Gifts to Wood Library's Annual Fund Drive sustain and enhance the essential library services and programs that people count on.

When you support Wood Library, you are investing in our neighbors and community. Even in a community like ours that loves its library, public funding isn't enough to provide all the important resources that people need.

Your donation helps people learn and grow and build community resilience.

Our fund drive is off to a great start!  Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.  Our goal is $95,000.
